I specialize in stories about food and, in particular, the place of food in culture ranging from ancient to pop.

I grew up in Northern Ontario with a penchant for the unknown, from art and culture to flavours and spices. By researching and writing about the world of food, I’ve expanded my horizons far beyond what I thought possible.

Food connects us to each other and cooking provides us with both new experiences and entertains our nostalgia. While so many things can tear the world apart, eating together will always tether us.

Currently, I write in both the contract and freelance fields. I also work as a recipe developer and workshop leader for a homestyle Japanese kitchen cafe.
